FOSTERING INFORMATION

Welcome and thanks so much for your help and support, without you we would not exist, as we have no kennels the only way we can save unwanted dogs is through the fostering process. These dogs have been to hell and back, we want you to love them and enjoy having them, but you should realise that a lot of the dogs we rescue have various behaviour problems, typically housetraining due to being in a new environment or being a puppy, separation anxiety after the trauma of being abandoned, some chase cats, some chew things they shouldn't. We work with a canine psychologist so can provide advice if you are faced with a problem and need assistance.

All potential new homes are checked for suitability for owning a dog before the dog is rehomed to that owner. However, equally important is the thought process we have to go through to make sure that the potential owner really is right for this dog, does the dog match the needs of the owner, can the owner cope with this type of dog. I can guarantee some of the dogs that are rehomed are returned and we ALWAYS have them back, preferably back to the same foster for the sake of the dog. Returns happen no matter how hard we try to ensure the right dog goes to the right home, often because potential owners aren't honest about their circumstances rather than because we are too stupid to correctly rehome dogs. Returns are very painful for the dogs and sad for the fosters who were proud to see their dog rehomed. But please apply common sense to the rehome.

Rescue is tough and emotionally taxing but unbelievably rewarding, the kick you get from seeing an abandoned, unwanted, unloved dog go to a loving new home is tremendous which makes it all worthwhile. All costs are covered for treatments for the dogs, all we need from you is a warm, safe environment where they can prepare for a home for life.
