It all started one Friday morning in February 2006. Marjorie received a telephone call or more of a cry for help. It was a puppy now called Max, he was just one of Christmas's cast off dogs.

Alas this little dog was awaiting his fate along with many more. She was asked if she could save his life. She said YES, and why she said this, she dosent really know, she had no where for it to go, and wondered what should she do.

She advertised on the Friday lunchtime at work and by Friday evening a lady called Jane came along and it's all history.

Marjorie and her husband Clive continued the plight from their home and through colleagues at work, asking, telling and pleading with everybody and anybody.

In July 2007 came another call, from Nat enquiring about rehoming a puppy, it had started.....

That puppy became Tammy and Nat's fundraising for Knine began as a thank you, this led to Nat contacting Gemma and both decided to fundraise to help towards helping more Christmas cast offs. They came, they conquered and £400 was raised.

Both then became firm friends and firm fundraisers! Once Christmas 2007 was over and more dogs to help, the fundraising continued, and another joined, Coleen- and the team was formed! All compatible, dog and animal mad, more importantly big hearts and the inability to say NO.

Coleen adopted Spot in 2007 and more and more fundraising, collecting and organising got stronger. The trust, friendship and goal was untouchable and all manner of pups and dogs were rescued, fostered, cared for, loved and fattened up; ready for their forever home.

Another idea came about, this time of helping the feline kind by Gemma who had the nack of finding stray and unwanted kittens or cats who were just abandoned, sometimes walking miles back into work with a kitten in her pocket. Knine Rescue became "Knine and Kitty Care in 2008".

Since that time, we have grown, the unbelievable happened, we now have foster carers, fund raisers, dog groomers, micro-chippers and those who say "what can I do?" make jam, hand crafted cards, bakers, groomers, printers.....

We are a dedicated team who strive to help all on 4 legs, we have the best supporters and without our fantastic families of fosterers who are sometimes called at all ours of the day and take in a waif and a stray into their home we could not function.

A big thank you goes out to all of you who help and worry with the rest of us and this site is a dedication to you and all of your hard work, in whatever form it may be, thank you.

Nat, Marje, Gemma and Coleen
